It was a Wednsay morning when I left home for college. I was dropped off to Generika in Sucat road by my driver where I would wait for a FX going to Lawton. It chilly outside, even the sun was present, giving an orange glow to the background of buildings and the sky.

I stood on the sidewalk, waiting for my ride, carrying my backpack on my back.. It took a while, though. When I looked at my watch, it was around nine-ish, but still there was no FX coming by. I sighed, bored of waiting. A FX finally came by, and stopped a feet away from my spot. Good. I could get going now.

I found my place at the rear seats of the the vehicle. It could snugly seat four with fairly good space for the limbs. The middles seats, I think would be the worst place to seat, since four people should occupy it. At that, it was cramp; you can't even get enough space for your elbows, so it sucked. Good thing I landed on the right spot, which would be the back.

And the one hour journey began. It was boring seating alone with three strangers around me, and the rocky movements just made me drowsy for some reason. I took out a book from my bag. Reading would be good about now because I'm dozing off. It was a book my flowery friend gave me for Christmas last year in our annual Christmas party. The book was authored by Tom Clancy with his name engraved on the front cover. I flipped the page to the last page I read.

I continued on where Toni was taking care of her little baby boy, who had just woken her up very early in the morning--sucked to be her--then about some computer wiz telling their progress in screwing the net. The internet seemed to be the life blood of every people in the world in 2010. Most businesses were done in net, and someone else was trying to screw it up, making such a havoc in every country. It was a good book.  I got so engrossed in reading it that I became unaware of everything around me. My eyes waved back and forth as I read along, nothing to bother me. I was beginning to get in to the mood where I was imagining every scene like a TV. I felt really calm as read along, beginning to have my own world until...

The FX abruptly grinded to a halt. The moment of the stop then swung me sideward, disrupting me. I got out of the trance. Reality kicked just after that, my stupor snapped out. I began to realize I was still in the FX. I looked at my watch. It's ten already, I thought to my self. That's time already, still not near to Vito Cruz? That's odd. Then it hit me...

"Nasaan na ako?" I asked.

"Saan ba ikaw bababa?" a passenger in front of me asked me.

I replied, "Vito Cruz?" It was odd. I turned my back and saw a pier outside the window of the FX. This couldn't be good. Where the hell am I? I looked at the passenger again. "Lagpas ba?"

"Oo."

To my horror. I went passed Vito Cruz without being aware of it!

"Oh shit" I cursed my self under my voice, and quickly jacked out of the FX just before it moved. I stood on the sidewalk and looked around. Beside the road, I could the sea, a sea with few boats and ships sailing from afar. I didn't think there would be a bay here. I scanned around my surroundings. Yes, it was confirmed. I was no where near Vito Cruz. I couldn't even see the CCP Theatre or even the huge TV screen towering beside it. Oh great. I'm lost.

I turned to my left, and saw an intersection. There was a sign saying 'Quirino avenue', and further more was more road. The sky was cloudy when I looked up; no sun; the air was a bit cold too. The climate didn't help much in the predicament I was. Oh, what to do, what do...

I started to walk opposite of the vehicles passing by. If I was right about it, the road should be straight, and it would lead me straight to Vito Cruz. Great. A long walk... I should blame my self for this because I was too preoccupied of reading Tom Clancy. Darn this day...

I forced my self for the long walk... This sucks.

This week, my mates and I had just taken the Midterm exams with much 'uh-ohs' and groans. I didn't to have problems in taking the test 'coz I'm confident I can get by it. It's not much of a big deal except for History, that's for sure. I'm happy that it will end by Friday (We'll be taking the second part of Natural Science and Art). That's another story. Regarding with the results I have, I got around 90 in two of my tests, which surprised that I got passed with a high score. Before, in High School, I always get less than 85, but now *grins* I got A's! Nothing to celebrate though. I wished my other four tests will come out with the same results as the two tests.
